The deadly corona virus was first found on 31st December, 2019 in China and right within 2-3 months, the virus hit the world very badly. A lot of people have caught this virus and a lot of people died because of this. Seeing the situation of the world, India also decided to opt for the lockdown for 2-3 months in this year. But with the passage of time, with the government’s guidelines, the country is unlocking stages after stages as there was a heavy economic loss as the whole country was being curfew.

It’s been a lot of months that the country has been opened and all the offices and shops are open hoping for their business to run it was doing before the lockdown and the virus. And since this is the festival time in India, there are very high chances that the COVID-19 cases will surge automatically. There are a lot of social events that have been affected by the virus. Today, we will talk about the most affected social events because of the corona virus.

NEW YEAR PARTIES

NEW YEAR PARTIES

The first and foremost is the New Year Party 2020. In previous year or the prior years, people start making plans with their loved ones and in country like India, social gatherings are must. You meet your extended families or friends and spend the time with them doing parties and bid adieu to the year happily and welcome the New Year with open arms. But this year will be very different as many of the New Year parties have been cancelled due to the spread of the virus. A lot of people this year prefer sitting at home safe with their families and enjoy with them.

Important Guideline: Wear mask if you are going for the New Year Party and do not involve many people as it may lead to the spread of the virus. You can do private party.

WEDDINGS

WEDDINGS

Indian weddings are not less than a large gathering of friends and extended families. It is one of the ways to meet each other and spend some time. With so many pre-wedding functions, the nuptial takes usually 3-4 days to get over. But since this pandemic has hit hard the whole globe, the government of India decided to allow only 50 persons in the wedding in order to prevent the risk of COVID-19. The banquet halls and farmhouse owners have said that there has been recurring loss that they have been suffering from as the people have started opted to do virtual weddings. And the ones who are doing the normal wedding, they can also invite only 50 persons.

Important Guideline: Not more than 50 persons are allowed to attend the wedding.

FOOD FAIRS

FOOD FAIRS

Yet another in this list is the Food Fairs like The Grub Fest, Asian Hawkers Market, Great Indian Food Festival among others offered scrumptious street food and people from different cities come to satiate their hunger. But in the year 2020, the plans of the people to visit the food festivals will remain a dream as there are no way you can attend them this year. We know you must be planning to head to some but unfortunately you will not be able to attend those.

Important Guidelines: Earlier they completely prohibited but now the government has decided that event organizer has to take the permission for the same and the area will be inspected by the District Magistrate and District DCP.

MUSIC CONCERTS

MUSIC CONCERTS

There are several music concerts in India that keeps going on and there are a large chunk of audience that comes to attend the concert and enjoy the music. But with the coming of COVID-19, all the concerts have been cancelled to halt the spread of virus. On the top of this, these concerts have been cancelled or postponed and at the same time it would be too disappointing for the artists who are not able to perform in the stage due to pandemic. We cannot go to such places may be which is good for us as we need to be safe but it is disheartening that we would not be able to see our favourite artist to perform live.

Important Guidelines: It’s a complete no from government sides as the people attending the concerts are more prone to the spread of the virus.

BIRTHDAY PARTY (A RESTAURANT DIN-IN WITH FRIENDS)

MUSIC CONCERTS

Now when we talk about celebrating birthday, what comes in your mind first? To celebrate it with your family and friends right! You might have done it until 2019 but in 2020 you might have done it due to this pandemic. If your birthday is in December then you can go to the restaurant for dine-in but make sure that there are not much people. Before going for dine-in, do check the official website of the restaurant and go through all the precautions that they are taking to combat this pandemic. Everybody would wish to celebrate their birthday with their loved ones.

Important Precautions to take: Wear mask, maintain social distance, and choose options in food and drinks of self-service to limit the touch within each other.

HOSTING AN EVENT OR PARTY

HOSTING AN EVENT OR PARTY

Hosting a party was strictly prohibited few months back but by following the guidelines given by the government to combat the virus, it might not harm you and your guests’. Host your party outdoors in an open area if possible, as you all should be at least 6 feet away from each other. Do such setting of the table and chairs that it is maintaining some distance from one another. When the guests will arrive, you make sure that you make minimal physical contact with them. Whatever might be the purpose of celebration, the norms and precautions should never be left behind as it should be your first priority.

Important Precautions: Do self-service for food and drinks, the sanitizers should be kept on the table for individuals, wear mask.

So, these are some of the social events that have been badly affected by the pandemic and the owners have to face a huge financial loss. We hope that with the 2020 going, the virus also fade away with the arriving of 2021.
